Last Seen on AppleTV
Last Seen on AppleTV – Police dispatcher Ian Ridley’s daughter Maggie disappeared years ago.
He receives a call, believing it’s her, and embarks on a relentless quest to find her and reunite his family, disregarding consequences.
Last Seen on AppleTV delivers stunning cinematography and exceptional performances, particularly from Patrick Brammall, while creating mounting suspense through effective cliff-hangers and moody atmosphere.
However, the series disappoints with predictable plot twists telegraphed well in advance, implausible character behavior and scenarios, and shallow character development.
The writing proves divisive, with some praising its character-focused approach while others find it lazy. Pacing divides audiences between those appreciating its patient build and those finding it unnecessarily stretched.
Storyline For Last Seen on AppleTV
In Last Seen, Brammall plays an alcoholic police dispatcher convinced that his daughter is still alive, 11 years after she was kidnapped and his life fell into a traumatic spiral.
Then one day later, Brammall and real-life wife Harriet Dyer reunite as a mismatched couple brought together by their love for a disabled dog in the third and final season of Colin From Accounts on Paramount+.
Former police detective turned emergency dispatcher Ian Ridley (Patrick Brammall) searches for his daughter, who vanished 11 years ago, after a teenage girl makes a frantic distress call.
Critics widely praise Patrick Brammall and Maxine Peake for their raw, grounded portrayals of grief, addiction, and parental obsession.
Adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s novel The Dispatcher and directed by Christian Schwochow, the series focuses heavily on deep character trauma and realistic human messiness rather than fast-paced, cheap plot twists.
