Andrew “Coop” Cooper is coming to terms with his divorce.
He’s also a hedge fund manager who’s recently been fired in disgrace from his job.
So to maintain his lifestyle, Coop resorts to stealing from the homes of his neighbors in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village; only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades, might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Andrew Cooper (Jon Hamm) wakes up on the floor of a house that’s not his, in a massive pool of blood. A dead man is next to him.
As he frantically tries to clean up, then run out of the house, he trips and falls in the pool. We hear him in voice over saying, “At that moment, I could help but catch a fleeting glimpse, out of the corner of my eye, of the swirling hot mess of my life, and wonder how the hell everything could go so wrong so fast.”
Four months prior, Coop, a top hedge fund manager who is freshly divorced from his wife Mel (Amanda Peet), meets Liv Cross (Kitty Hawthorne), a young up-and-comer at his firm, at a bar.
She relentlessly flirts with him, while he claims to have no game, and that being 20 years older than she is is not a formula for a successful relationship.
But all she wants to do is get laid.
Three months later, Coop, who lives alone in a rented house in since his divorce, thinks about the path of his life: From his first days at his firm as a new college graduate, his marriage to Mel, having their now-teenage daughter Tori (Isabel Gravitt) and son Hunter (Donovan Colan), to buying bigger houses and faster cars.
But when he catches Mel in bed with his friend Nick Brandes (Mark Tallman), a former NBA All-Star, it all comes to a halt.
